PE and Literacy Update

In PE in this term, we have been looking at improving the accuracy of our catching and throwing techniques. Last Thursday, we experimented with different types of ball using both underarm and overarm techniques.

At the end of the lesson we played a game of girls vs boys. The girls won! Better luck next time boys.

In literacy, we have been looking at forming arguments for persuasive writing. We looked at the points for and against a range of statements and had some excellent class debates.

We have also finished our 'Woman in the Woods' storybooks! We have been reading them during our Guided Reading sessions in the mornings and they look absolutely fantastic.

  1. I have enjoyed my first 3 weeks in Year 5. It feels like it's been more because of all the fun things we have learnt. Year 5 is probably the best class in primary school, but I did have a great time in year 4 with Mrs Warner and Miss Horn. I liked doing P.E and I knew that the girls would win. Girls are the BEST!!! I liked doing the For and Against as well. It was funny sitting on the chair and arguing to Izzy that we shouldn't have 5 minutes of P.E everyday. But I honestly think that we should have 5 or 10 minutes of P.E everyday because it would be fun and we would get fit if we do it everyday,
